His silken voice and the gleam in his darkened eyes makes my heart beat a little faster. Why does it feel like his request to prove he’s telling the truth isn’t completely innocent? What he’s asking to do is super wrong. How much it excites me at the thought of his handsome face between my legs is even worse. I should say no. It’s the right thing to do. I’m not supposed to expose myself to Rafael. He’s not supposed to see that part of me.
“OK,” I say, despite all my rationalizations.
Rafael smiles, and there’s no better word to describe it than triumphant. He grasps my waist and pulls me away from the kitchen door, walking backward. When we’re by the table, he tightens his grip and hoists me effortlessly onto the surface. He sits in a chair, moving it until he’s right in front of me, then plants his hands on my thighs.
