I last about twenty minutes into the movie littered with jump scares before I press my quaking body against Neil’s side.

“See? I knew you wouldn’t like it.” He exits the movie to the main screen and holds me close. His big hand glides up and down my arm in a soothing rub. “Want to watch something funny instead?”

“Not yet. I like this.”

I splay my hand over his chest then start idly tracing circles on his shirt with my forefinger. The fresh scent of his body wash lingers on his skin. I tilt my head up to press my face against his neck and breathe him in.

He immediately tenses and his rub on my arm stops.

“Sweetheart—”

“You smell really good,” I say softly, my lips moving against his skin. He shivers and starts to pull away but I cling to him tighter. His chest rises and falls slowly in a deep breath.

“Natasha, what are you doing?” he asks in a low voice. He stares down at me, his eyebrows drawn together. “You’ve been acting strange lately. Your clothes… the way you touch me…” He looks away and takes another deep breath. “I don’t know. Maybe I’m reading this all wrong.”

I hesitate, prepared to lie that I don’t know what he means.

“You’re not wrong.” I pull away from his side and climb into his lap. “I want you to fuck me, Neil.”

His stunned gaze sweeps over me, taking in the fact that I’m sitting on his lap. Can he feel the heat between my legs seeping into his crotch?

He swallows, his mouth working to form words.

“Tash, that’s way out of line,” he rasps. “We can’t have sex.”

“We can. We’re just not supposed to.”

I lean down and kiss him directly on the lips.
